Minors, 15 years of age and younger, must attach a copy of their work permit to their submission. Email rachel@extraordinarycasting.net to receive a letter of intent.
In order to obtain a minor permit, take the letter of intent to your nearest high school or federal educational facility, along with a legal document with proof of age, a social security card, a signed letter of physical fitness (obtained through the doctor/physical physician certifying him/her in good physical condition to work), and a signed school principal statement if the child is working during his/her regular school hours. Statement must be on a form approved by the Dept. of Labor, which is obtained at your local high school or federal education facility. Make sure to attach a copy of it with your submission. Children who live outside the state of Illinois must obtain an "Illinois Employment Certificate," which can be obtained at any local high school and is valid in the entire state. All permits need to be updated yearly. (All legal information was provided by the 820 ILCS 205 Child Labor Laws of the Illinois Compiled Statutes of the Illinois Department of Labor).
Production Companies:
Do NOT send photos and resumes to the production companies (they will most likely end up in the trash can), they do not cast the films. They hire casting directors who sort through the thousands of submissions.
