New Showtime programming chief David Nevins has given the series pilot order for the psychological thriller "Homeland," which will be filmed in and around the Charlotte, NC area in mid-January, 2011. The production is currently casting principal actors in Los Angeles, and also casting extras in North Carolina to appear on the show. Talent can submit via email or postal mail.

Primetime Emmy winning Howard Gordon, Primetime Emmy nominated Alex Gansa, and the talented Director/Writer/Producer Gideon Raff all co-wrote the series pilot and will together serve as executive producers. Gorden and Gansa were executive producers on the hit Fox Network series "24" and "The X-Files".

Loosely based on Gideon Raff’s Israeli series "Prisoners of War", "Homeland" follows U.S. Marine Sergeant Scott Brody, who 10 years earlier disappeared in Iraq, then resurfaced and has recently recovered from injuries suffered during a drone strike. Carrie Anderson, an intelligent, driven CIA officer, gets a tip that Body, who is being feted as a returning war hero, actually has switched sides and will direct an imminent attack against the U.S. on American soil.

Golden Globe Award nominee Damian Lewis will play the lead role of Marine Sergeant Scott Brody. Tony Award-winning and Golden Globe nominated actor Mandy Patinkin will play the role of 63 year old CIA Division Chief emeritus Saul Berenson. Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winning actress Claire Danes has signed on to portray Carrie Anderson.
