The production company Kurtzman/Orci and Summit Entertainment will begin shooting the magician-heist thriller feature film "Now You See Me" in New Orleans and New York beginning January 16, 2012. The main roles are being cast in Los Angeles, and some supporting roles as well as day players are being cast in New Orleans. All of the film's extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins for the films stars will be cast in Louisiana and New York.

"Now You See Me" is about about a team of FBI agents that track a group of illusionists called "The Four Horsemen" who perform a pair of high-tech magic shows, first astonishing audiences by robbing a bank on another continent, and then exposing a white-collar criminal and funneling his millions into the audience members' bank accounts.

The film has a great cast in Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg playing the lead role of Atlas, an arrogant leader of a group of illusionists called the Four Horsemen. Academy Award winners Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine star along with Academy Award nominees Mark Ruffalo and Woody Harrelson. The two female leads are played by Isla Fisher and Mélanie Laurent. Dave Franco, the younger brother of James, has joined the cast as one of the Four Horsemen.

French filmmaker Louis Leterrier will direct "Now You See Me" from a script written by Boaz Yakin and Edward Ricourt. Leterrier has directed such films as "The Transporter 1 & 2," "Unleashed," "The Incredible Hulk," and "Clash of the Titans". He also served as executive producer on the Titans sequel "Wrath of the Titans", which will hit theaters on March 30, 2012.

Story:

An action film in the vein on "Ocean's 11", about four magicians who pull off a bank heist in Paris, while simultaneously performing on stage in Las Vegas. It follows a crack FBI squad in a game of cat-and-mouse against a super-team of the world’s greatest illusionists, who pull off a series of daring bank heists during their Performances, showering the profits on their audiences while staying one step ahead of the law. Dylan Hobbes (Mark Ruffalo) is a special agent at the Las Vegas branch of the FBI who is desperately trying to find time to spend with his beloved, but estranged, daughter. When four master magicians begin robbing banks using illusions however, Dylan is forced away from his home and into a bizarre investigation. Dylan is joined by his partner, Agent Fuller and a Parisian liaison, Alma Cheval (Mélanie Laurent), but both find themselves unable to explain how the magicians are able to pull off the heists. They subsequently turn to legendary illusion-exposer Thaddeus Bradely (Morgan Freeman) who begins to instruct the detectives as to how the magicians are able to fool them all. Dylan and his crew finally think they have the jump on the magicians' final heist (robbing a money-printing factory in Los Angeles), but when the place is robbed despite Dylan's presence and extra security, he is thrown off the case. When the stolen money subsequently appears in Thaddeus' basement, Dylan makes the arrest, but reveals to the startled ex-magician that he works for a secret society known as "They Eye," a society tasked with protecting magicians from exposers just like Thaddeus. Dylan has been orchestrating the heists from day one and after Thaddeus is sent to jail for crimes he didn’t commit, Dylan heads home to finally start making up lost time with his daughter.
