Casting call for feature film 'Stretch' starring Chris Pine and Brooklyn Decker

Stretch Los Angeles Casting Call

"Stretch" is set for a March 21, 2014 release date.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Universal Pictures and Defender Entertainment in association with Blumhouse Productions and IM Global are now in production on the action comedy feature film "Stretch". The extras casting director has issued a casting call seeking people to work as background performers in an upscale high-end nightclub scene. Shooting will be taking place in Los Angeles starting June 30, 2013. In addition to the extras casting call, the principal actor casting director is auditioning talent for speaking roles. "Stretch" is scheduled to hit theaters on March 21, 2014.

"Stretch" centers on limo driver Stretch, who is trying to climb out of a tailspin over the loss of his girlfriend, but at least he's gotten clean from his drug/alcohol/gambling addictions. After messing up at work, nearly getting fired, and having the screws put on him for the six grand he owes his bookie, Stretch decides to take things into his own hands, and winds up chauffeuring around a certifiable nut job in the hopes that he'll receive $6,000 as a tip. Things go from bad to worse - involving enforcers, FBI agents, crazy celebs, and vindictive rival limo drivers - but Stretch somehow manages to find the moxie to survive and even triumph.

Starring in "Stretch" is Critics Choice Award nominee Chris Pine playing the lead role of limo driver stretch. Pine, a Los Angeles native, has enjoyed a very successful career starring in such films as "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement," "Smokin' Aces," "Star Trek," "Unstoppable," and "Star Trek Into Darkness". He is also set to star alongside Johnny Depp in the Disney feature film "Into The Woods". Also starring in "Stretch" is Teen Choice Awards nominee Brooklyn Decker, Golden Globe Award nominee Patrick Wilson, and Screen Actors Guild Awards winner Ed Helms.

Independent Spirit Awards nominee Joe Carnahan will direct from an original screenplay written by himself. Carnahan previously directed Chris Pine in the film "Smokin' Aces". Other directing credits include "Narc," "The A-Team," and "The Grey". Upcoming projects include the feature films "White Jazz," "Undying Love," "Nemesis," "Killing Pablo," and "Continue". Carnahan also wrote the screenplay for the feature film remake of the 1974 crime thriller film "Death Wish". Producing "Stretch" is Blumhouse Productions' Jason Blum and Tracy Falco. Jerry Corley, Rob Rose and Charles Layton will executive produce.

Story:

Our entire way of life depends on electricity. So what would happen if it just stopped working? Well, one day, like a switch turned off, the world is suddenly thrust back into the dark ages. Planes fall from the sky, hospitals shut down, and communication is impossible. And without any modern technology, who can tell us why? Now, 15 years later, life is back to what it once was long before the industrial revolution: families living in quiet culde-sacs, and when the sun goes down lanterns and candles are lit. Life is slower and sweeter. Or is it? On the fringes of small farming communities, danger lurks. And a young woman’s (Tracy Spiridakos) life is dramatically changed when a local militia arrives and kills her father, who mysteriously – and unbeknownst to her – had something to do with the blackout. This brutal encounter sets her and two unlikely companions off on a daring coming-of-age journey to find answers about the past in the hopes of reclaiming the future.

Feature film 'Beware the Night' casting extras in New York through August, 2013

Beware the Night New York Casting Calls

"Beware the Night" will hit theaters on January 16, 2015.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Jerry Bruckheimer Films is now in production on the Screen Gems supernatural thriller feature film "Beware the Night", and casting for day player actors and background performers is ongoing. Filming is taking place in the New York City area through August, 2013. All ages and types are being cast as extras. Principal actor casting has been taking place in both Los Angeles and New York. "Beware the Night" is based on the novel of the same name written by sixteen-year NYPD veteran, Ralph Sarchie.

"Beware the Night" centers on Irish Catholic NYPD detective Ralph Sarchie, who works out of the 46th Precinct in South Bronx. He also works with his partner investigating cases of demonic possession and assisting in the exorcisms of humanity's most ancient, and most dangerous, foes. While working on a murder case, Sarchie runs into a renegade priest who is convinced that a demonic element is at play, and finds himself targeted by the devil in the form of a possessed soldier.

Starring in "Beware the Night" is multiple award winning Australian actor Eric Bana playing the role of detective Ralph Sarchie. Bana recently completed shooting the feature film "Lone Survivor" starring alongside Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch, and Ben Foster. The stunningly beautiful model and actress Olivia Munn is playing Bana's girlfriend, while Joel McHale plays Bana's partner. Golden Globe Award nominee Edgar Ramirez is on board as a Jesuit priest, and Sean Harris plays the role of a possessed soldier.

Filmmaker Scott Derrickson is directing from an adapted screenplay that he wrote along with Paul Harris Boardman. Derrickson also wrote and directed the Screen Gems courtroom drama horror film "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" which had a budget of $20 million and has raked in $131 million at the box office. He then directed the sci-fi remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" which has taken in over $233 million on an $80 million budget. He directed and wrote the thriller "Sinister" on a $3 million budget, bringing in over $48 million in the USA alone.

Nine-time Primetime Emmy Award winner Jerry Bruckheimer is executive producing under the banner of his company Jerry Bruckheimer Films along with Chad Oman and Mike Stenson. Bruckheimer has an impressive list of film producing credits that includes "Top Gun," "The Rock," "Con Air," "Pearl Harbor," "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl," "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," and "The Lone Ranger".
