Families and friends will be needed to portray the audience to cheer and give support. Those interested in participating should attend the open call and bring a recent, non-returnable photo with them on the day of the call.

Songlist:

- Danny Boy
- Give My Regards to Broadway
- Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen
- Swing Low, Sweet Chariot
- Take me out to the Ball Game

Writer-director Lexi Alexander (“Hooligans” w/Elijah Wood and last year’s “Punisher: War Zone”) will be at the helm for "Lifted". Her film “Johnny Flynton,” nominated for an Academy Award for best live-action short film in 2003, was shot in and around the Birmingham area. That Alabama experience and Hunter Films drew her back to the area for this latest production. The film was written with Birmingham and Alabama in mind. It will also reunite the team with Dash Mihok, who starred in “Johnny Flynton.”

Lifted tells the story of a young Alabama boy who shares his father’s passion for R&B music. Just before he is to sing in a contest in Birmingham, his father is called up for a tour in Afghanistan. Father manages to reunite with son in time for his big performance.
