Alleged Michigan Production Office

Flint, MI 48503-1873

Story:

The film is about a talented young reporter who is stuck in a rural Tennessee town in 1925. When a few town fathers hatch a plan to host The Trial of the Century over coffee cups at the local drugstore, our reporter sees the trial as his opportunity to finally break into the journalistic big leagues. Alleged is a true story of great historical characters (William Jennings Bryan, Clarence Darrow, H.L. Mencken) and fundamental conflicts that largely remain with us to this day: creation, evolution, secular confidence, bible backpedaling, eugenics, and (perhaps above all) media bias.

George Clooney film 'The Ides of March' to cast hundreds of extras in Ohio and Michigan

Evan Rachel Wood Ryan Gosling The Ides of MarchEvan Rachel Wood and Ryan Gosling play Campaign workers in "The Ides of March"
AB Media

Academy Award winner George Clooney grew up near Cincinnati, Ohio and now he will be directing his fourth film there titled "The Ides of March". Clooney, who will also star in the film, co-wrote the screenplay with his Smoke House Pictures partner Grant Heslov and Beau Willimon. At one point the film was titled "Farragut North," the name of the 2008 Off-Broadway play by Beau Willimon for which the drama is based on. However the film is now going by the title, "The Ides Of March". The term Ides of March is best known as the date that Julius Caesar was killed in 44 B.C., stabbed to death in the Roman Senate.

Ryan Gosling plays the lead role of an aggressive first-time campaign staffer who gets caught up in the unfair tactics of political trickery. Leonardo DiCaprio, who is executive producing the film, originally intended to play the role, but Clooney ended up going with Gosling since DiCaprio has a commitment to playing the lead in Clint Eastwoods film "J. Edgar".

Filming on "The Ides Of March" begins February, 2011 in Cincinnati, Ohio, where over two dozen locations will be used. The production will move to Detroit, Michigan in March, 2011. No release date has been set, however this will likely be one of the most highly anticipated films of 2012 with heavy Oscar consideration. Exclusive Media Group and Cross Creek Pictures are financing, while Sony Pictures Entertainment will handle distribution.

The film's extras casting directors are hiring numerous extras and some small speaking roles in both Cincinnati and Detroit. People located near those metropolitan areas who wish to work on the film should submit a recent color snapshot and contact information to the extras casting directors below. There will also be open casting calls that will be posted here as soon as they are scheduled.

UPDATE: The production is seeking Michigan residents to play Secret Service Agents in George Clooney’s “The Ides of March”. The extras casting director is casting 1 or 2 Agents that may be needed for the full 8 weeks of the shoot, in both Ohio and Michigan, beginning February 14, 2011. The Michigan portion begins filming in March 7, 2011.

The movie extras are needed to create a crowd for a beach boardwalk scene for the film 'What’s Wrong With Virginia' starring Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris, Emma Roberts, Amy Madigan and Harrison Gilbertson.

The film is written and directed by Dustin Lance Black, the Academy Award-Winning screenwriter of "Milk," and is being produced by TicTock Studios of Holland.

Rather than using a limited number of movie extras for this scene, the opportunity is open to anyone interested in participating. Filming will take place on October 26 in South Haven, Michigan, weather permitting.

Additional Open Casting Calls in Michigan for The Genesis Code

A production company filming a movie in Kent County is looking for hundreds of extras for two different scenes.

America Saga Productions will begin filming The Genesis Code in the next few weeks. The leading roles include a college hockey star who develops a relationship with a fellow college student. Together, they study the connection between faith and science.

The movie will be filmed through the end of August.

"We need several hundred people. One for the church scene and another more importantly for the hockey scene. The Patterson Ice Arena sits about 800 people," says Jerry Zandstra, Vice President of American Saga Productions.

Zandstra has already cast the leading roles, and while he wouldn't name names, he says the cast includes two Academy Award winners and even a former presidential candidate.

Television cop drama Detroit 1-8-7 seeking extras in Michigan

Detroit 187 Extras CastingDetroit 1-8-7 airs at 10 pm ET/PT on ABC
American Broadcasting Companies, Inc.

The new ABC crime drama series Detroit 1-8-7 is casting extras in the Detroit metro area to work on the show this fall. What does it take to be a detective on America’s most dangerous streets? Get ready to be part of the action when a documentary crew rolls with some of Detroit’s finest, offering an insider’s glimpse behind the curtain of a Homicide Unit. The cameras unearth the crisis and revelation, heartbreak and heroism of these inner city cops—moments of raw exposure when they address us directly, as well as private moments when they forget they’re being filmed.

The pilot episode of Detroit 1-8-7 was shot in Atlanta, Georgia, however the series is filming in Detroit. Originally planned as a mockumentary, ABC decided to abandon the format after the city of Detroit banned camera crews from following real officers after a controversial police shooting during filming of the documentary series "The First 48". Scenes from the pilot were re-shot to remove the mockumentary format before the pilot episode aired.

John Roach, former Detroit Police Department spokesman, in speaking of the first Detroit 1-8-7 episode, said, "I think the show portrayed Detroit's police officers as real people, dedicated, even heroic, which is entirely deserved."

The series is broadcast on Tuesdays at 10 pm ET/PT on ABC

The series extras casting director in Detroit is seeking all types of people.

The following is a current special needs casting:

● African American twins, 4 months old, preferably boys.

The cameras unearth the crisis and revelation, heartbreak and heroism of these inner city cops - moments of raw exposure when they address us directly, as well as private moments when they forget they’re being filmed. There’s the damaged but driven Detective Louis Fitch, a wily homicide vet who is the most respected - and most misunderstood - man in the division; Detective Damon Washington, Fitch’s new partner, who finds the first day on the job is a trial by fire, complicated by the imminent birth of his first child; Detective Ariana Sanchez, sexy, edgy and beautiful, who has emerged from a rough background to become a rising star in the department; Narcotics undercover cop John Stone, a streetwise smooth talker, clever and quick with a smile made for the movies, who is teamed with Sanchez - a combustible pairing rife with conflict and sexual tension; Sergeant Jesse Longford, a 30-year veteran struggling with his impending retirement from the force and the city he loves, who, together with his partner, Detective Aman Mahajan - a fully Americanized son of Indian immigrants - form an amusing mismatch of experience and enthusiasm, intellect and instinct, old school and new world, but whose combined skills have never encountered a case that couldn’t be cleared; and all are headed by Lieutenant Maureen Mason, a strong-willed single mom struggling to balance home and work.
