The Universal Pictures feature film "Five-Year Engagement" is now in production in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area and the extras casting director is seeking local people of all ages and types including children to work as background performers, stand-ins, and photo doubles. Filming begins April 25, 2011 and will continue through early June, at which point the production will move to San Fransisco for the remainder of the shoot.

Nicholas Stoller will direct "Five-Year Engagement" from a script that he wrote with Jason Segel. Stoller's other two directorial credits are "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," and "Get Him to the Greek". His writing credits are "Fun with Dick and Jane," "Yes Man," "Get Him to the Greek," "Gulliver's Travels," and the recently wrapped "The Muppets".

Judd Apatow will produce under the banner of his company Apatow Productions, with Sara Scott and Rodney Rothman co-producing. Universal Pictures has acquired distribution rights to the film and will also produce. This will be the third collaboration between Judd Apatow, Nicholas Stoller, and Jason Segel.

"Five-Year Engagement" is the first production approved by Michigan under its new 2011 policy and guidelines for film incentives. Shooting will take place at University of Michigan as well as other various locations in and around Ann Arbor, Michigan.

All ages and types are needed, however here are some specific needs:

• Infant, must be 15 days to 3 months old on May 3rd, 2011. Caucasian. They will consider both boys and girls, but the infant will be wearing pink in the movie to reflect a girl infant. Infant and parent must be available on May 4th, 2011.

• Boys, 8-14. Hasidic Jews with payes -curls in front of their ears. Must be able to play Hackey Sack. Boys and parent or legal guardian must be available on Wednesday May 11, 2011.

The casting directors for the independent family feature film "Sweethearts N' Angels" will be holding an open casting call on Saturday, April 16, 2011 for people interested in working on the film as background extras.

This is a rodeo-themed movie starring 11-year-old Bailee Madison as strong-willed Ida Clayton who is recruited into a young female trick-riding rodeo group. Madison recently starred as Jennifer Aniston's daughter in "Just Go With It," and can be seen with Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce in the Guillermo del Toro-produced "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark". She also has been cast to co-star in "Dance of the Mirlitons" with Kristen Bell. She played Maxine Russo on Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place".

Timothy Armstrong wrote the screenplay and will direct "Sweethearts N' Angels" with Ben Feingold producing.

Open Casting Call Details

All ages including children and senior citizens are needed, as well as any ethnicity, type, size, and shapes. This is a rodeo themed film, so rodeo crowd types are especially needed. Marvel Studios first official open casting call for 'The Avengers'

Walt Disney Company's Marvel Studios is currently in pre-production on the upcoming superhero blockbuster film "The Avengers". The film will be directed by Academy Award nominated Joss Whedon, and shot in 3-D. Whedon also re-wrote a script that was originally written by scribe Zak Penn. There will be an official open casting call being held by Marvel Studios in Albuquerque, NM in late March 2011.

Marvel Studios Co-Presidents Kevin Feige and Louis D'Esposito, VP Development and Production Jeremy Latcham, Executive Vice President of Visual Effects Victoria Alonso, and Executive of Animation Development Joshua Fine will all oversee production for the studio. Jon Favreau will co-executive produce "The Avengers" under his Fairview Entertainment banner.

"The Avengers" will be filmed almost entirely in New Mexico, and will become the state's largest feature film production ever with an estimated budget surpassing $200 million. New Mexico has a 25 percent rebate program intended to bring major film and television productions to the state.

Marvel also chose New Mexico due to the close propinquity to Los Angeles, heterogeneous landscape and the fact that the studio recently enjoyed filming scenes for another film there - "Thor." The picture was originally slated to start filming in February, 2011 but Marvel Studio executives pushed the production start date back to April, 2011 to accommodate the change in filming location.

All of the main principal actors have been cast. There will still be casting for day players and extras, mainly in Albuquerque, Cleveland, and New York - where filming will take place starting April 25, 2011 and continue through late June, 2011. There will also be additional casting in Cleveland, Ohio and New York, the other two filming locations. Shooting will run through September 2010. The exact shooting dates for Cleveland and New York have not been officially released. Filming will also take place in Los Angeles.

"The Avengers" has a scheduled release date of May 4, 2012.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Original Pictures are teamed up filming the 7th movie in the family comedy Beethoven film series. The casting directors are seeking upwards of 1,000 people of all ages including children to appear the film as background performers.

John Putch is directing his second film for Universal Home Entertainment. He previously directed Universal's direct-to-DVD move "America Pie: Book of Love". Putch began his career as an actor in 1973, and began directing films and television series in 1985. His TV directing credits include "Scrubs ," "Ugly Betty," "10 Things I Hate About You," "Zeke and Luther," "Cougar Town," "Friends with Benefits" among many others. Some of his film directing credits include " Waiting to Act," "Intrepid," "Pursuit of Happiness," "Mojave Phone Booth," "Route 30," and "Route 30, Too!".

Two Disney Channel stars are playing lead roles in "Beethoven Saves Christmas". Kim Rhodes was a series regular on "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody", and Kyle Massey was the star of "Cory in the House". Canadian actor Munro Chambers, who plays Eli Goldsworthy on the television series "Degrassi: The Next Generation" is co-starring. And Primetime Emmy nominated actor Robert Picardo plays a lead role.

Here is what the extras casting director is seeking:

• All ages, male and female, any ethnicity.

• Families, moms, dads, kids, grandmas, grandpas.

• Ice skaters.

• People to play attendees and participants in a Santa Claus parade.

• People to play Christmas shoppers.

• Must be willing to work mostly exterior winter scenes.

• Must commit to 1-2 complete days of filming.

• Must be located within a reasonable driving distance to Winnipeg.

There will possibly be upwards of 1,000 extras hired for these scenes. Filming will take place on Monday through Fridays only. A typical day of shooting is between 10-12 hours. Pay rate is $11.00 per hour when hired.

Ethan Cohen has penned the script, and rumors of him being replaced by David Koepp were untrue, although Koepp did some brief work on the script. Cohen's writing credits include Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, and Tropic Thunder.

The principal actor casting director is auditioning actresses in their 20's to play a younger version of Emma Thompson. The character has a good sense of humor, is alluring, and is very secure with her level of intelligence.

Story:

Fed up with her dysfunctional family, Emily Smith-Dungy (Olesya Rulin) drugs and ties up her entire family in order to lay down the law on all their individual character flaws. However, after poking a few giant holes in her parents self-esteem, Emily finds that her own behavior comes under close scrutiny as well.
