One of the largest and most prestigious New York City extras casting companies, Grant Wilfley Casting, is holding an open casting call for AFTRA and non-union adults and children to work on current projects. Television shows and films that they are casting include Boardwalk Empire (HBO), Over/Under (USA), Pan Am (ABC), Person of Interest (CBS), Royal Pains (USA), The Dictator (feature film), and Marcher (feature film).

Originally named Joy Todd Casting, and later Todd/Wilfley, the company has been at the top of the New York extras casting scene for over 20 years. Union members who are unable to attend this open casting call can still register with Grant Wilfley Casting. Open registration is held the first Wednesday of every month for SAG and AFTRA members from 11:00am to 4:00pm at their New York office.

Non-Union background artists can still be considered for film and television projects by mailing in a headshot and resume.

Feature film 'Sleeping Around' casting hundreds of extras in Charlotte, NC

"Sleeping Around" is filming in the Lake Norman, NC area.

The independent feature film "Sleeping Around" in currently in production in the Charlotte, North Carolina area and the extras casting director is currently seeking several hundred people to work as background artists on the film. This is for a big party scene to be filmed Friday September 2nd, 2011 at Lake Norman, which is just north of Charlotte. There could be a few additional days of filming also.

"Sleeping Around" is billed as being a comedy "with a hip, funny dialogue… set at a beach house in the Hamptons, immersed in the wacky social world of the rich and playful". Starring in the film is Australian actress Tammin Sursok, who has been a series regular on such shows as "Home and Away," "The Young and the Restless," "Pretty Little Liars," and had recurring role on Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana". She also has a handful of film roles under her belt.

HBO comedy series 'Eastbound & Down' seeking 300 extras in Myrtle Beach, SC

This third season is the last for HBO's "Eastbound & Down".

The HBO comedy television series "Eastbound & Down" will be needing close to 300 people for Friday, August 26, 2011. They will be shooting in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. People of all ages and types are needed who are local to the Myrtle Beach areas only.

The series tells the story of a burned-out major league ballplayer who returns to teach physical education at his old middle school years after he turned his back on his hometown. While not based on the life of former Major League Baseball relief pitcher John Rocker, the show's creators do cite him as an inspiration.

Producers Will Ferrell and Adam McKay received an order for six episodes for the first season from HBO. The series was produced by Will Ferrell's production company, Gary Sanchez Productions. The show premiered February 15, 2009. Its second season, consisting of seven episodes, began on September 26, 2010. On October 27, 2011 HBO announced they were renewing the show for a third and final season. Star and co-creator of "Eastbound & Down" Danny McBride stated, “We never really had an interest in turning the show into anything traditional, we approach each season like it’s one long movie".

Columbia Pictures 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' casting highly featured extras

Filming on "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" began in Stockholm, Sweden in September 2010.

Filming is currently taking place in Los Angeles on the Columbia Pictures feature film "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". The extras casting director is currently casting several very featured background artist roles, including Swedish, Spanish, and European looking types. Also sought is a very good long haired guitar player. This is for Los Angeles area talent only, no exceptions.

"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" is a thriller film that is the second film based on the Swedish novel of the same name by Stieg Larsson. The first film was the 2009 Swedish-language adaptation. Two-time Academy Award nominated David Fincher is directing from an adapted screenplay written by Academy Award winning writer Steven Zaillian.

If it performs well, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" will in all likelyhood be the first film in a trilogy with the next two films titled "The Girl Who Played with Fire," and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest". Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara both have options in their contracts to reprise their roles in the next two films.

Steven Zaillian is executive producer for Film Rights, Mikael Wallen and Anni Faurbye Fernandez will executive produce for Yellow Bird Films, and Relativity Media Founder and CEO Ryan Kavanaugh will co-executive produce. Søren Stærmose, who produced the 2009 Swedish version of the film, will produce "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" along with Academy Award winning producer Scott Rudin and Yellow Bird Film's Ole Søndberg.

Story:
