'Anchorman: The Legend Continues' casting formal wear extras for April 25

Anchorman: The Legend Continues Casting Call

"Anchorman: The Legend Continues" is scheduled to hit theaters on December 20, 2013.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Apatow Productions and Gary Sanchez Productions are in production on the feature film sequel "Anchorman: The Legend Continues" for Paramount Pictures. The extras casting directors in Atlanta, GA are seeking local people who have floor-length gowns and tuxedos or very nice black suits to work on April 25, 2013. Female talent must also either have a 1970s style haircut or be able to style their hair in a 70s manner. For this formal event scene, the casting directors only want people who have not previously worked on the film. Note: "Anchorman 2" aka "Anchorman: The Legend Continues" is going by the working title "Teaching Manheim".

The original film "Anchorman" had a budget of $26 million and grossed more than $90 million worldwide. It starred Will Ferrell as Ronald Joseph Aaron "Ron" Burgund, the ignorant, egotistical, misogynistic, and narcissistic main anchorman for the KVWN Channel 4 News Team from 1964 to 1977. Christina Applegate played the ambitious aspiring network anchor Veronica Corningstone. Paul Rudd was the arrogant field reporter Brian Fantana. Steve Carell shined as Brick Tamland, the not so smart weatherman for the KVWN news team. MTV Movie Awards nominee David Koechner played the KVWN sportscaster. All are returning for the sequel. Kristen Wiig has joined the cast for "Anchorman 2" playing Steve Carell's wife. Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman, and Greg Kinnear all will make cameo appearances.

Two-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee Adam McKay is directing "Anchorman 2" from a screenplay written by himself and Will Ferrell. McKay and Ferrell, along with Kevin J. Messick and Primetime Emmy Award nominee Jessica Elbaum, are producing under the banner of their production company Gary Sanchez Productions, a film production company spearheaded by Paraguayan entrepreneur and financier Gary Sanchez. Also producing is Judd Apatow of Apatow Productions. Paramount Pictures will distribute.
